Hard Rock Eyes October Launch of Temporary Rockford Casino
Hard Rock's temporary casino in Rockford, Illinois, will open in October. The temporary facility will be a part of a $311 million casino complex. It will feature a 65,000-square-foot casino with an initial 1,500 slot machines, 55 table games, and a sportsbook. There will also be Hard Rock Café, a 1.600-seat Hard Rink Live concert venue, three dining outlets, two quick-service cafés.
Temporary casino in Rockford is expected to be operational by October of this year. The temporary casino will be located at the site of the Giovanni's restaurant and banquet hall at 610 N. Bell School Road. It will undergo an $8.8 million renovation to become a gaming hall with 735 slot machines, two dining outlets and possibly a Rock Shop selling Hard Rock memorabilia. Hard Rancher is in a race against time to keep gambling money in Illinois as Beloit in neighboring Wisconsin is awaiting federal approval to launch a hotel and casino resort operated by the Ho-Chunk Nation.
