The Indiana Gaming Commission has ruled on two issues regarding casinos in the state. Lucky Luck Gaming's Terre Haute casino will not have its gaming license renewed. The Horseshoe Hammond Casino near Chicago will remain in Caesars Entertainment's hands. The regulator has decided that Caeres' ownership will benefit the casino and the surrounding area.

It's been a year and a half since the start of the project.

Spectacle Jack's Terre Haute casino was supposed to open in September 2021. Two executives for Spectacle Entertainment had to give up their ownership stake in the project in May 2020. They were accused of funneling campaign contributions to a congressional candidate in Indiana through their former gaming company, Centaur Gaming. Lucky Luck Gaming chairman Greg Gibson took over the management of the casino. Hard Rock International secured an agreement to run the new property. The groundbreaking was pushed back until June or early July this year, with the opening set for fall 2022.

IGC rules on Terre Haute and Horseshoe Hammond Casinos. Eldorado Resorts gained four additional properties in Indiana from its merger with Caesars Entertainment. The IGC ordered Caeres to sell three of them, including Hoursesho Hammond. Caerds has entered into agreements for the sale of the Tropicana Evansville and Caesar Southern Indiana.
