Harrah's Nebraska Casino in Columbus to Begin Construction Work
Harrah's casino in Columbus, Nebraska, received the go-ahead from the state’s regulator. The developer is ready to begin construction on the building's framework in the coming weeks.
Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission green-lighted the beginning of construction work for the permanent casino that will be located off of Highway 81 on the former Wishbones property. The property will feature a sports bar, a Sportsbook, and a restaurant, besides a gaming floor with hundreds of slot machines and electronic and table games. Caesars Entertainment is planning to add a simulcast area and one-mile horse track to the venue.
Temporary Harrah's casino at Platte County Agricultural Park will be functional within a year. The temporary venue was approved during the commission's meeting. It will use the downstairs exhibit hall at Ag Park until the permanent casino property is constructed. Commissioner approved a request to modify the Ag park ballroom and remodel the stewards’ stands.
