LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Donny Osmond is helping celebrate the 50th anniversary of Harrah's Las Vegas.
The Strip resort says Osmond recently surprised his audience with a special birthday song to celebrate the milestone.
Harrah's opened in 1973 as the Holiday Casino. It became Harrah's after casino magnate William F. Harrah purchased the property in 1992, and the resort is now part of the Caesars Entertainment portfolio.
"For half a century, Harrah’s has provided visitors with a true Las Vegas experience featuring iconic names in entertainment and hospitality in the heart of The Strip," resort vice president and general manager Dan Walsh said in a news release. "The 50th anniversary wouldn’t be possible without the loyalty of our guests, support from the community and dedicated service from our Team Members."
Caesars says it will hold a social media sweepstakes for the occasion. Guests can post a photo or video of a Harrah's Las Vegas experience with the hashtags #Harrahs50Years, #AllNewsHarrahs, and #Sweepstakes for a chance to win a two-night stay in a suite, plus tickets to a show and credit for food and beverage and spa.
There will also be 50% discounts for shows at Harrah's, including Osmond's, the High Roller Observation Wheel and FlyLINQ Zipline through October. Discounts can only be redeemed online.
