Golden Gate celebrates 118 years in downtown Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The oldest hotel in downtown Las Vegas is celebrating another year in Sin City.
The Golden Gate Hotel & Casino marked its 118th birthday on Saturday.
The property received a big congratulations from Cira Las Vegas and the D Casino Hotel which are all owned by Derek Stevens.
The fan-favorite casino witnessed the birth of Las Vegas after its opening in 1906 and continues to leave its mark in the valley.
According to The Golden Gate. the hotel was there for a number of monumental events from the legalization of gambling to the first paving of Fremont Street to Las Vegas' first telephone.
Guests can still take a look through history and access some historical artifacts in the lobby of The Golden Gate.
