GLPI Interested in Buying Property on the Las Vegas Strip
GLPI is interested in acquiring a property on the Las Vegas Strip.
GLPI owns the land on which the Tropicana Hotel and Casino sits. It sold the hotel to Bally's Corporation in April 2021 for $150m and agreed to lease the property to them for 50 years.
GLPI is interested in buying properties on the Las Vegas Strip. Caesars wants to sell the Flamingo for at least $1bn. Bally's Corporation will likely rebrand the Tropicana as a Baly's. The current Bary's Las Vega will change its name to Horeseshoe Las Las in December.
The Tropicana is the site of negotiations for a possible move by MLB's Oakland A's to Las Vegas. The team's lease runs out after the 2024 season and it has not been able to secure a deal with the city to build a new one. MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said on Sunday that it is probably going to happen.
