Gateway opens $41m Cascades casino in Ontario

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited officially opened its Cascades casino North Bay on March 9th, 2022. The new 39,000-plus sq ft casino features a full-service casino bar, gaming consisting of nearly 300 slots, 10 electronic tables and 6 live dealer table games.
$41 million investment has created 200 new jobs for North Bay. Gateway Casinos unveiled a new entertainment destination. “This new attraction is testimony to the resiliency and determination of many over the past two years as the pandemic created many challenges.
Gateway Casinos plans to hold a grand opening event for the new North Bay casino later this spring. The Canadian gaming and entertainment company was established in 1992 and employs more than 8,000 people. It has 26 gaming properties in British Columbia and Ontario and two in Edmonton, Alberta. In December 2016, it was selected as the primary service provider for Ontario’s northern and southwest gaming bundles.
Gateway Casinos put their construction plans for adding a new location in Kenora on hold indefinitely due to the pandemic. The tentative completion date for the Kenorra’s casino was expected to be the first quarter of 2022.
