Gambling Revenues in Atlantic City Skyrocket in August 2021
Gambling operators in Atlantic City recorded another strong month in terms of gambling revenue. Total gaming revenue filed last month hit $427.7 million.
Gambling revenues in Atlantic City increased by 31% in August 2021. The three horse race tracks and the nine casinos earned $427.7 million. Sports wagering operations earned another $52.0 million in the same period.
Gambling revenues in Atlantic City increased by 84.8% compared to the same period in 2020. Year-to-date results for the period that ended August 2021 are not comparable to 2020, but total gambling revenue has skyrocketed. Casino win for this period hit $1.65 billion, sports wagering gross revenue hit $475.3 million.
August was a good month for casinos in Atlantic City. Resorts Casino's total gaming revenue increased 35% compared to August 2020. Hard Rock Casino saw a 33% increase in revenue, Golden Nugget 70% more. Tropicana's revenue was up 43% from the previous year. Borgata's gaming revenues increased 31% to $94 million.
