Fort Erie Mayor Slams OLG over Slot Operations

Wayne Redekop is frustrated with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation. He is angry because the corporation has run Vegas-style slots contrary to the rules they are supposed to be operating under.
Some bingo halls have been transformed into casino properties. The local mayor wants the money from the bingos to go to local charities and non-profits. The provincial law prohibits slot machines from being placed at b Bingos. Mayor Redekop believes that the Crown corporation should not be taking steps contrary to the rules. He also believes a slot machine at the Fort Erie Racetrack would not pose a threat to Crown's two casino property in Niagara Falls.
The Crown announced the name of its new event centre at its Fallsview Casino Resort. The launch of the new CA$140 million entertainment centre has been delayed several times. It will launch this fall.
