First lessons in slots: Lessons #7 to #9
Lesson #7: Slot developers’ blind spot. I used to work for one of the biggest video slot companies in the world. Its most successful games were simple ones with no great features, nothing complex and nothing fancy. Every time they started to start on a new slot, the one in charge tried to create the shiniest game with the fanciest features. The players preferred the old reliable games.
Lesson #8: The slots UI. Companies spend a lot of time on getting the UI of a slot to fit the theme. The popularity of the slot does not depend on the generic UI, but on its brand. If the brand is important, then the design should be important.
