Facebook updated its policy on online gambling advertising. Gambling companies will need to submit a form to Meta to prove that their products are licensed within the jurisdiction targeted by the gambling ads. Online gambling and gaming is any product or service where anything of monetary value is included as part of a method of entry and prize.
Advertisers must follow all applicable laws and include targeting criteria consistent with Meta’s targeting requirements. Ads may not be targeted to people under 18 years of age.
New policy on online gambling advertising requires written permission. Free-to-play games are not subject to this regulation. Online poker tournaments can be promoted on the condition that the ad does not promote or facilitate online gaming. Government and state lotteries are also not affected by the policy.
