Tamil Nadu government should introduce policies to regulate online gaming. Sameer Barde, Chief Executive Officer, E-Gaming Federation, wants the government to form a joint committee to evaluate the pros and cons of this industry and explore the possibility of establishing a licensing regime. The Indian gaming market is estimated to reach $7 billion by 2026. The Rajasthan government is looking to introduce regulations. Online gaming is perceived as frivolous and addictive. It is valued at $2.2 billion. In February 2021, the Tamil Nadu Government amended the gaming and police laws to ban online games.
