Direct From Foxwoods And Mohegan Sun As Connecticut Casinos Reopen

Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, Connecticut's two tribal casinos, reopened on Monday morning.

Both Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun have plenty of safety protocols in evidence.

Foxwoods checked the temperature of each visitor to the Mashantucket site with a non-invasive machine. At Mohegan Sun, there were no temperature checks in sight. The only offenders were customers drinking at the bar. The other casino, Moheygan, has a system that ensures that guests know about this important feature. It also has protective masks. There are also handheld temperature tests. Any guest with temperature higher than 99.9 degrees will be re-tested to confirm. They are common in the tri-state area. More than 100,000 people died of pandemic-related illnesses in U.S. in 2013.

There were no lines to get in at either Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun. Both casinos are located 150 miles north of New York City. The Tanger Outlets retail section at Fox Woods was closed. Dunkin’ Donuts and Krispy Kreme were available at both casinos.

The Foxwoods and Mohegan casinos reopened without governor's approval. The only thing missing was valet parking, poker, bingo, keno, and buffets. There is no legal sports betting in Connecticut.
