Connecticut Senate approved House Bill 6451. The bill goes to Gov. Ned Lamont's office for signature. It's not yet clear if the US Department of Interior will approve the new tribal compact. Mohegan and Mashantucket Pequot tribes own Connecticut's casinos. They have a duopoly on casino gambling. Lamonth negotiated a deal in March to allow the state lottery to share in sports betting in return for allowing the tribes to offer their casino games online.

Connecticut will allow sports wagering, online casino gaming and entry of the Connecticut Lottery Corporation into this space.

Connecticut's online gambling bill is ready to be signed into law. The Indian Gaming Regulatory Act protects the Mohegan and Mashantucket Pequot tribes.

Connecticut Online Gambling is a done deal, save for DOI approval. The National Indian Gaming Commission must also give its assent.

IGRA gives NIGC approval authority over management contracts and tribal gaming ordinances. Congress vested the commission with broad authority to issue regulations.

Connecticut Lottery is planning to launch its online sports betting solution by fall 2021. Tomorrow is the proposal deadline for organizations interested in providing Connecticut’s online betting. On June 10, the lottery will select the winning provider.
