Detroit casinos report $103.4 million monthly aggregate revenue in September; quarterly revenue declines 7%
The three Detroit casinos reported $103.4 million in monthly aggregate revenue in September. Table games and slots generated $100.8 million, while sports betting produced $2.6 million.

The casinos’ table games and slots revenue fell 5.7% compared with September 2021 results. Revenue also was down 3.5% from August results, but year-to-date through Sept. 30, table game and slot revenue increased 0.8%.
MGM, MotorCity and Hollywood Casino at Greektown reported monthly table games and slots revenue by property was up by a fractional 0.01% to $48.4 million. Hollywood casino paid $8.2 million in gaming taxes to the State of Michigan compared with $ 8.7 million for the same period last year. The three Detroit casinos reported submitting $12.5 million to Detroit City Council during September.

The three Detroit casinos reported a 7% decline in aggregate revenue for the third quarter compared with the same period last year. MGM, down 2.9% to $150 million, MotorCity, 11.7% down to $98.5 million and Hollywood Casino at Greektown, 8.8% to £62. 8 million. The casinos paid $25.2 million in gaming taxes to the state during the 3rd quarter, compared to last quarter's $27.1 million received.

Retail sports betting qualified adjusted gross receipts (QAGR) declined 24.9% during September compared with September 2021 results of $3.5 million. QAGRs were up 56.3% when compared to August’s Q AGR of $1.7 million, which was up from August's $0.8 million QGAR.
The three Detroit casinos reported total retail sports betting handle of $18,580,437. The three casinos submitted $120,091 to the City of Detroit in retail betting taxes during September.
