Deltin Group was caught aback by RedboxGlobalIndia’s fake tweet on casino license approval in Daman
Surat (Gujarat) [India]: The Deltin Group was caught aback after RedboxGlobal India, a reputable Indian financial audio news site, tweeted that the long-awaited casino license for the Deltin Hotel in Daman had been approved by the UT Administration of Daman, Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli (DNH). Deltin’s share price appreciated by almost 7 percent following the tweet.
"Deltin Daman (Delta Corp) receives casino license," RedboxGlobalIndia tweeted. Along with the tweet, there is an official notification from the UT Administration of Daman and Diu, Department of Tourism, issuing a license to Deltin Hotel, Daman for electronic amusement/slot machine games under category-A for 12 months till September 8, 2023.
Sources in the Deltin Group said that the stock market analyst might have spread the fake news for gaining a rally on the Deltin Hotel’s stock.
Aakash Mathur, general manager, Deltin Hotel, Daman was unaware when TBT contacted him over the phone on Friday. “I am unaware of any such development concerning the casino license approval for our hotel”.
Meanwhile, the partner of Deltin Hotel in Daman and former Congress Chief of Daman, Ketan Patel said, “It seems some stock market analysts have played mischief by spreading the fake news”.
Deltin Group is awaiting a casino license in Daman for a very long time. Deltin Group currently has two offshore casinos and one 5-star hotel with a land-based casino in Goa and one land-based casino each in Sikkim and Nepal.
