Chamber event reaches new heights, breaks records
The San Benito Chamber of Commerce board and leadership are reporting that their annual Casino Night event was not only successful, but exceeded expectations and broke attendance, revenue and sponsorship records.
On the heels of the chamber’s successful inaugural El Sabor de San Benito event spotlighting area restaurants, Casino Night was once again held at Oak Hill Event Center in San Benito.
San Benito Chamber of Commerce Director Cathy Weaver said Casino Night, which was held last Thursday evening, November 2, 2023, drew well over 280 attendees garnering over $14,000 in revenue, including corporate and member sponsorships.
Weaver said that the venue set up over 270 chairs and tables for the evening, and they were all occupied. She added that Casino Night was also able to attract some 20 sponsors, which bested the chamber leadership’s expectations. “This is the biggest Casino Night we’ve ever had,” she remarked. The director explained that that Chamber has contracted an upper Valley company called RGV Las Vegas Nights which comes in, sets up and operates the casino-centric games.
“We bring Vegas to you with all the games you would play in Vegas,” reads RGV Las Vegas Nights’ website. Featured games include Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Texas Hold-Em, Let It Ride, Baccarat, and real Vegas slot machines. The games are hosted by “real” casino dealers from Las Vegas, Mexico, and Europe.
According to its website, for the past two consecutive years, RGV Las Vegas Nights casino parties have been rated the number one pick to host the Houston Rockets/Vipers’ parties. The company has also hosted many casino shows for famous individuals, movie stars, professional athletes, judges, mayors, and CEOs.
