After slot-machine revenues climbed in July, things cooled off a bit at the casinos last month.

Foxwoods Resort Casino reported Wednesday it “won,” or kept, $30.8 million in slots revenue after paying out prizes, which was down from the $36.5 million it kept in July but up 3.8% over the $29.6 million it kept in August 2020.

Mohegan Sun kept $43.7 million last month, down from $49.9 million in July and down 4.2% from the $45.6 million it kept in August 2020.

Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, which contribute 25% of their slots winnings to the state, made August payments of $7.7 million and $10.9 million, respectively.
