Casino New Brunswick Officially Relaunches Gaming
The last 12 months have not been kind on the gaming industry with the closing down of all brick-and-mortar casino venues in the country. New Brunswick has suffered as well with closing of its casino which is under the Great Canadian Gaming’s jurisdiction.
The provincial government lifted some restrictions on casinos. The Nova Scotia Halifax reopened for visitors on January 11, 2021. Casino Nova Nova Scotiabank Sydney reopened in October last year with 20% player capacity, no table games, and limited food and drinks amenities.
All of the Crown corporation's casinos in Ontario are still suspended from operations. The Ontario casinos are awaiting the green light from the provincial government. All of British Columbia's gambling venues have been closed since March 2020.
The Supreme Court of British Columbia has granted the Crown agency the approval for the company’s acquisition. US-based Apollo Global Management is a lead candidate for purchase. The agreed price per share was announced to be CA$45. Apollo will have to pay CA $2.50 billion for acquisition of the corporation in its entirety.
Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation announced plans and budget for the improvement of the existing online offerings. The company has put a lot of effort into making the online gambling experience as close to the real-life feeling as possible.
