Elements Casino Brantford is preparing to reopen. The casino is overseen by the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation. Core workers have already returned to their positions at the facility. Casinos in Ontario have been closed since the end of March this year.
The Great Canadian Gaming Corporation's casino in Brantford is preparing for its imminent restart this July. The company's spokesperson has said that the reopening could be postponed by a few days. The casino closed in March 2020 and reopened in September 2020, with only slot games available. It was closed again in December, reopened again February 2021 and shut down again March.
The Elements Casino Brantford has been suspended since January. The property used to provide over CA$5 million annually for the organizations in need, but for 2021 it generated just CA $161,000. For the last year the city received CA1.2 million in revenue share.
Great Canadian Gaming Corporation oversees casinos in B.C., Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. The company's River Rock Casino Resort, Hard Rock casino Vancouver, Elements Casino Victoria, Casino Nanaimo, and Elements casino Chilliwack are reopening.
