$237K Win For Fairfax Woman Who Used Phone To Play Virginia Lottery
FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Lakeshia Wallace of Fairfax was relaxing the day before Mother's Day by using her phone to play a Virginia L0ttery game, according to a release.
"I like playing in the comfort of my home," the mother of three later told Virginia Lottery officials.
While Wallace's goal may have been relax, what happened next was anything by relaxing. She won $237,633 in the lottery's Cash Buster Multiplier game.
"It's unreal!" she said, in a Virginia Lottery release. "I didn't sleep that night. I tossed and turned. I kept thinking, 'Is this real?'"
Cash Buster Multiplier, which is just one of the dozens of games Virginia Lottery has on its website, includes a progressive jackpot. The more people play, the higher the jackpot becomes. The odds of winning prize in the Cash Buster Multiplier game are 1 in 4.64.
Wallace's works as an assistant manager at an ice cream shop. Aside from paying her bills, she told lottery officials that she didn't have any particular plan for her winnings.
