Louisville woman wins $148K lottery prize while sitting in bed
A Louisville woman won more than $100,000, and she didn't even have to leave her bed. Crystal Young said she was sitting up in bed last week when she pulled up the Kentucky Lottery app on her phone and played Instant Play games. She said was just about to call it a night when she wagered $10 on the Bank Buster Jackpot Instant Play game. "I was just sitting there. I typically don’t play that game," she said. Young wagered $10 in free Bonus Bucks she received from the Kentucky Lottery. Her husband was asleep when she woke him up. "Honey, get up. It says I won the jackpot." Young said it was a total surprise.“When it hits, it shows my wins at the bottom of the screen. I was like, ‘yeah, right,’” she said.Young was skeptical she had won, so she contacted Kentucky Lottery’s Customer Service to get confirmation of her win. That’s when she was told she would be receiving an email. Young had been notified she had won the Bank Buster Jackpot progressive jackpot of $148,499.06. "I still thought maybe this is a scam," she told officials. "I guess I won’t believe it until I get the check and I’ve deposited it in my account."The couple said they didn’t get much sleep that night, but they still showed up to work the next morning. After work, she and her husband stopped at the lottery headquarters, walking away with a check for $106,176.83 after taxes. “I’m still in disbelief,” Young said. They told officials they didn’t have immediate plans for the winnings and needed more time to think about it.
