Vitalant to host two-day blood drive at west Las Vegas casino
Las Vegas (KSNV) — A local blood bank is inciting those looking to give back this Thanksgiving to an upcoming blood drive as they look to keep addressing the ongoing shortage.
The two-day event will take place on Saturday, November 25, and Sunday, November 26 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. inside the Grand Ballroom at the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa.
Organizers say they are encouraging donors to come out to the event as every donation counts with the continued shortage.
“In addition to the shortage, blood donation numbers around Thanksgiving are always among the lowest of the year as the holiday and travel plans are in the mix. However, patients who need blood can’t go without just because of the holiday. We’re encouraging all eligible donors to consider saving a life with a donation this Thanksgiving,” said Mike Doria, communications manager at Vitalant.
Donors will receive one 50% off voucher to the Market Place Buffet at Rampart Casino for lunch, brunch, or dinner and be entered for a drawing for one of five $5,000 Amazon gift cards.
Additionally, anyone who donates between November 23 and 26 will be offered a $20 Amazon gift card or gift card of their choice so long as they are opted into Vitalant’s donor rewards store.
Donors may schedule an appointment time to donate at the blood drive by using code “L1973” at or by calling 877-25-VITAL.
Walk-ins to the blood drive are always welcomed and encouraged.
JW Marriott Las Vegas is located at 221 N Rampart Blvd in Las Vegas.
