Unique New Las Vegas Strip Casino Faces a Problem

Fontainebleau, a new Las Vegas Strip resort/casino, broke ground nearly 20 years ago. The project has passed through multiple owners and seen construction stop and start multiple times. Now, after almost two decades, it seems on track for a late-2023 opening under the original developer. The development of Fontaineblue is a cautionary tale for new projects.

Dream Hotel Group has broken ground on a new boutique hotel/casino on Las Vegas Boulevard near the private aviation terminal at McCarran International Airport. The 531-room hotel should cost around $550 million and open in 2024. A neighbor encroached on Dream's property by at least eight feet. The lawsuit said the neighbor's occupation prevented a drainage outlet from being constructed.

The project for Dream Las Vegas was delayed due to a faulty survey. The nonprofit that owns the Pinball Hall of Fame and the boutique hotel developer settled their dispute. Plans for the hotel have been modified. Construction continues.  The unique new Las Las Vegas Strip Casino is also moving forward.
