Twitch Ban on Unregulated Gambling Streams Goes Into Effect

The ban on unregulated gambling streams on Twitch has gone into effect. Twitch will be gentle in its enforcement at the outset to give streamers a chance to get used to the policy. The first offense will result in a warning and the offending content will probably be taken down. Further violations will lead to temporary suspensions for up to a month and permanent bans. Poker, fantasy sports and sports betting are not included in the ban. Last year Twitch banned sharing links or referral codes to gambling sites that aren't licensed in U.S. or other jurisdictions.
Twitch bans unregulated gambling streams. Four specific sites were named as targets: Stake, Rollbit, Duelbits and Roobet. Gambling streams have charged up Twitch’s charts in the past year or so. Top streamers have criticized them for appealing to vulnerable viewers like minors.
