TwinSpires Partners with Mazatal Hotel & Casino In Arizona

Churchill Downs-owned TwinSpires is partnering with the Tonto Apache Tribe to open a retail sportsbook within the Mazatal Hotel and Casino and launch its mobile sportsbooks within Arizona. The deal is subject to obtaining the proper gaming licenses and regulatory approvals. Churchill Downs’ BetAmerica sports betting and iGaming platform will transition to the Twin Spires brand during the third quarter of 2021.
Arizona Department of Gaming is accepting applications for event wagering licenses. The state is aiming for launch before the start of the NFL season. Arizona law allows for a maximum of 20 event betting licenses in the state. 10 of them are reserved for Arizona tribes. Ten others are for professional sports teams, sports facilities, PGA Tour, NASCAR races and limited event licenses for racetracks.
