The Covid-19 pandemic has passed, Australians are worried about big consequences: online gambling addiction
Rhys Wareham (31 years old) is a coffee technician in Sydney (Australia). And he is also a gambling addict.
He used to go to the pub every day to play slot machines. This habit was forced to stop when Covid-19 broke out and the government issued a blockade order to prevent the Pandemic.
Unable to access a traditional slot machine, Wareham turned to his phone to bet on his favorite sport, baseball.

This change can be seen across Australia since the pandemic. Players have turned to smartphone apps, making it harder for authorities to regulate than traditional gambling.
For Wareham, the first step to solving this problem is to adjust the advertising. The Australian government in mid-September said it would hold a broad parliamentary inquiry into online gambling. However, the main recommendations of the 2015 investigation on the same topic, which were approved by the government at the time, are not yet in effect.
