Tamil Nadu CM, MK Stalin, has formed a committee under retired justice Chandru to look into the impact of online gambling. This was done as cases of women killing themselves due to losing money on online gambling began to come to light recently.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has constituted a committee to study the impact of online rummy. This step was taken as cases of women committing suicide after losing their life savings in online gambling began to emerge.

CM MK Stalin, on Friday, June 10, constituted a committee under the chairmanship of retired justice Chandru to study the impact of online rummy.

The committee has been asked to submit a report to the government on the same within the next 2 weeks.

The committee has been given the responsibility of doing a detailed study regarding the published advertisements that advocate online gambling. The committee will also probe cases of monetary losses and suicides due to loss of money in online gambling.

Once the committee submits its findings in a report, a law is also expected to be brought into place as suggested by the committee.
