State’s gaming compact with Tejon Tribe moves casino project closer to home plate

The State of California has entered into an updated gaming compact with the Tejon Indian Tribe.
The August 18 “Tribal-State Gaming Compact Between The State of California and the Tejon Indian Tribe” is a revision of the first version signed by the Governor on June 13.

California Senate Bill 910, when passed and signed by the Governor, would establish the provisions of the compact as state law.

Michelle Sherwood, Communications Director for the bill’s primary author, Sen. Melissa Hurtado, D-Sanger, said the August 18 revisions were needed to bring certain sections of the compact into compliance with federal law.
