Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians get new compact

California Governor Gavin Newsom signed tribal-state gaming compacts with six federally recognized Indian tribes. One of them is the Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians. The compact will go into effect once it is ratified by the state legislature and approved by Department of Interior.

On July 30th, the Chukchansi Tribe and Madera County signed a compact. It will increase law enforcement presence and fire protection on Chucchinsi lands in central California. The Tribe will fund the additional services and will be permitted to integrate marijuana into its economic development strategy.

Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians gets new compact. Chuckchanansisi Gold Resort and Casino is located between Fresno and Yosemite National Park. The casino portion of the property opened on June 25, 2003, followed by the resort portion on August 22, 2004.

The new 25-year gaming compact signed by Governor Newsom on August 10, 2021, authorizes Class III gaming with up to 3,000 gaming devices at up three gambling facilities on the Tribe’s property. The compact also authorises Class II gaming on tribal land without state approval. Tribal gaming compacts specify quarterly payments to the state based on a percentage of gambling revenues.

Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians get new compact. Cahto Indian Tribe of Laytonville Ranches gets new Compact. Sherwood Valley Ranchherie of Pomo Indians gets same authorizations as above. Table Mountain R Ranchheries owner/operator of Table mountain Casino in Friant gets compact that authorizes Class III gaming with up to 3,000 gaming devices at up three gambling facilities on the Tribe’s property. Ewiiaapaayp Band of Kumeyaay Indians in Alpine gets a compact which authorises Class 3 gaming at two gambling facility.
