South Dakota gambling increases 8% in February

Gambling in South Dakota increased by 8 per cent to $118.6 million in February, despite a fall in sports betting.

Slot machines accounted for most of the state’s gambling turnover during the month at $110.8 million, a rise of 9 per cent year-on-year.

There were 2,761 slot machines active in the month and the 2,260 1-cent slots had handle of $89.1 million. The 226 $1 slot machines reported handle of $9.2 million.
