Slots Tracker: Status quo continues in US slots as Canadian top two swap places in September

The reign of IGT’s Fortune Coin slot at the top of the US slots rankings continued in September, with the Las Vegas-headquartered operator’s slots games scoring both first and second place.

Fortune Coin and August’s second place slot IGT’s Cash Eruption retained their respective ranking spots in September, just ahead of White Hat Gaming’s Almighty Buffalo Megaways, which grabbed the bronze medal spot during the month, rising four spots in the process.

That rise came at the expense of Everi’s Cash Machine, which dropped one place to fourth.

Falling from an August fourth to sixth spot in September was ReelPlay’s HyperNova Megaways, just ahead of NetEnt’s Divine Fortune, which hopped into seventh spot.

Digital Gaming Corporation’s Gold Blitz, Big Time Gaming’s Bonanza, and NetEnt’s Mercy of the Gods also all gained places in September, charting at eighth, ninth and 10, respectively.

IGT’s Cleopatra slot dropped seven spots to 12 place in the September slots rankings, falling by the largest number of spots during the month.

Inversely, Slingo Originals’ Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania Slingo rose by the biggest number of ranking positions in September, leaping 12 positions to break into the top 20 at 15.

September saw one new entry in the US, Light & Wonder’s Rich Little Piggies Meal Ticket, which made its US slots rankings debut at 16 place. The top 20 list in September was rounded out by White Hat Gaming’s Wolf Legend Megaways, which rose nine spots to 20.

US slots rankings positions are based on the performance of the slots across six US states: New Jersey, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Connecticut, and Delaware.

In respect of the US list, eGaming Monitor data reviewed 54 sites in September 2023, with 2,387 games scrutinized. A total of 57 webpages were examined across six territories. Games from a total of 147 studios were considered in the rankings in September.

Canadian Slots Rankings

Pragmatic Play’s Sweet Bonanza built on its August Canadian slots rankings second spot by leapfrogging previous top ranked slot, Gameburger Studios 9 Masks of Fire, into first position, leaving the slot in second.

Pragmatic Play’s victory in September was compounded further with its Big Bass Bonanza and Wolf Gold slots, ranking in third and fourth positions, respectively, during the month. Wolf Gold’s rise was particularly stellar, as the slot advanced 10 spots in the space of a month.

Triple Edge Gaming’s Cash N Riches Megaways jumped from eighth position in August to fifth in September, fighting off the highest-placed new entrant, Nailed It Games’ Rainbow Burst, in sixth spot.

Five other slots made their debut in the September Canadian slots rankings: Neon Valley Studios’ Asgardian Fire, Hammertime Games Gem Fire Frenzy, Microgaming’s Froot Loot, Wishbone Games Blazing Sea 40, and Alchemy Gaming’s Anvil And Ore, which charted at number 16.

Breaking into the top 20 Canadian slots rankings in September was 21-place-riser Bonanza from Big Time Gaming, the eighth-placed slot, and Pragmatic Play’s Madame Destiny Megaways, which flew up 33 spots to 17 position to land a spot in the top 20.

September’s last placed Canadian slot was Crazy Tooth Studio’s Fire Gnomes, which fell 11 spots to 20 place.

Canadian slots performance is based on performance in five provinces: Ontario, Western Canada, Quebec, New Brunswick, and British Columbia.

For the Canadian rankings, eGaming Monitor’s reviewed 72 sites in September 2023, with 4,136 games scrutinized. A total of 83 webpages were examined across five provinces. Games from 209 studios were considered in the September rankings.
