The only exception is to continue live gambling in the city. Prague Mayor Zdenek Hrib is concerned about gambling addiction and crime. He urges the authorities to respond quickly to the proposed changes.
The number of casinos in Prague has fallen from 7,600 to 1,800. The number with gambling machines has also decreased. Prague 7 held a referendum in 2014 and 92% of the people voted for a gambling ban. If the proposed gambling bill is approved, operators will be able to keep the slot machines until their permits expire. After that, they will need to remove them.
