A LOTTO player was just one number away from winning Ireland's €19 million jackpot - however the record prize will roll over again.

The online player, based in Sligo, matched five numbers and the bonus to come agonisingly close to becoming the biggest jackpot winner in the game's history.

The punter did however become a millionaire after collecting a whopping €1.2 million in last night's draw.

The winning numbers were 5, 13, 18, 25, 34, 38 and bonus 7.

The jackpot - which has been rolling over since last June - is capped at €19.06 million - meaning the Match 5 + bonus grew to €1.2 million thanks to the additional prize money.

The Sligo player has now been urged to come forward and claim their prize.

Over 233,000 players won prizes across the Lotto and Lotto Plus games in last night's draw as attention now turns to Wednesday's draw where the whopping jackpot will once again be up for grabs.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “And the jackpot roll continues! We certainly are in unprecedented territory as we reach the 4-month mark of the current jackpot roll.

"The excitement levels continue to grow daily as players the length and breadth of the country hope to see themselves added to the top of the list of all-time highest Lotto winners ever.

"While there was no jackpot winner in last night’s draw, a lucky online player in Sligo became the newest National Lottery millionaire after scooping a cool €1,262,603 after matching five numbers and the bonus.

"We are advising all of our online players in Sligo to check their tickets carefully today and for the lucky ticket holder to make contact with our prize claims team so that arrangements can be made for them to claim their prize.”
