Sky River Casino to open in September 2022
SACRAMENTO COUNTY’S FIRST CASINO IS JUST WEEKS AWAY FROM OPENING. CONSTRUCTION IS NEARLY COMPLETE FOR THE SKY RIVER CASINO IN ELK GROVE. WORK STARTED EARLY LAST YEAR AT THE SITE OF AN ABANDONED SHOPPING MALL OFF OF HIGHWAY 99 NEAR GRANT LINE ROAD. THE CASINO IS LOOKING TO OPEN IN SEPTEMBER. IT WILL INCLUDE 2,000 SLOT MACHINES AND 80 TABLE GAMES. THE CASINO WAS DEVELOPED AND BUILT FOR THE WILTON RANCHER
Sky River Casino in Elk Grove is just weeks from opening. Construction is nearly complete for what will become Sacramento County’s first casino. Work started early last year at the site of an abandoned shopping mall off Highway 99 near Grant Line Road. The casino is looking to open in September. It will include 2,000 slot machines and 80 table games. Sky River was developed and built for the Wilton Rancheria Tribe by Boyd Gaming, which will operate the casino. “Our people have fought for decades to achieve self-sufficiency,” Wilton Rancheria TribalChairman Jesus Tarango said in a statement.“We fought for tribal recognition, for our land and for this historic project. We are privileged to partner with Boyd Gaming and look forward to the opening of Sky River, which will bring jobs and long-term benefits to our Tribe, our community, and the region.”
