San Manuel Casino is getting a new name
The Yaamava’ Resort and Casino at San Manuel is changing its name to the Yaama” Resort. The renaming should be complete by the time the new $760 million hotel opens in December.
The San Manuel Casino is getting a new name. The name Yaamava is a word from the Serrano language that means "spring". The rebranding will allow the expanded San. Manuel casino to experience "a new beginning".
The San Manuel Casino is getting a new name. It opened as the San Bernardino Indian Bingo and Casino in 1986. The development underwent a redevelopment in 2001 that saw its complement of slots expanded to eventually encompass thousands of machines.
The San Manuel Casino opened in 2005 with a casino, parking garage and restaurants. It also had a bingo hall and entertainment venue that hosted artists as diverse as Gloria Estefan, Drake, Kiss and Joan Rivers. The bingo hall is being transformed into the Rockin' Casino from November of 2017.
The name of the Yaamava Resort and Casino at San Manuel will change to Yaama. The tribe is also buying the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. It will be unveiled in the next few weeks. The new name will honor the tribe's ancestral lands and culture.
