Rivers Casino buffet equipment, items up for auction
Even if you’ve never gotten lucky at Rivers Casino, you might be able to bring home a piece of the magic — or rather, a piece of the buffet.
Close to 200 items, fixtures and pieces of furniture from the Rivers Casino buffet will be up for auction online this weekend until Monday at 6 p.m., through Hostetter Auctioneers.
The Grand View Buffet closed down in March 2020 due to the pandemic. Now, many of its fixtures, from booths to lamps to kitchen equipment, are for sale.
The space formerly occupied by Grand View Buffet will become additional conference and banquet space “to accommodate the growth of our events and hospitality business,” Rivers spokesperson Jack Horner said.
“Rivers Casino continues to operate eight diverse restaurants and bars throughout the property,” he added.
Among the items up for auction are sound speakers, a commercial pizza oven, server racks, display letters that once designated different stations at the buffet, chairs, office tables, and a 13.5-inch tall plastic Buddha statue.
“Some of the speakers were at one of the bars on the casino floor,” said apprentice auctioneer Luis Cheng.
“The rest are booths, tables, chairs. … There’s a grandfather clock,” he noted.
An in-person preview was held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, but those interested in seeing items in person over the weekend can contact Hostetter Auctioneers, Cheng said.
The end of the online auction starts at 6 p.m. Monday, when items begin to close on a rolling basis.
