Powerball $40m jackpot draw: How to enter, results, winning numbers
Powerball’s top prize hits a life-changing amount of money tonight as it jackpots to $40 million.
If someone scores division one on Thursday night, they will be the 10th Powerball division one winner of 2021.
The Lott’s Lauren Cooney said Powerball has yet to be won at $40 million this year.
“My tip for anyone buying an entry is to register your tickets to a player card or an online account. If your ticket is registered and you do win division one, we can give you that life-changing phone call straight after the numbers are drawn,” she said.
The last time Powerball was won was at the beginning of the month when a Townsville syndicate shared the incredible $60 million prize.
A Townsville man in the syndicate was busy watching the football when a lottery official rang him with the multimillion-dollar news.
“Can I just write that down that amount? You just ruined my good night’s sleep, but I think I can live with that,” he said.
“Put it this way, my children and grandchildren can live a very comfortable life now.”
Another of the North Queensland winners took great delight in breaking the news to her husband in the neighbouring room.
“Oh my god,” she cried with happiness. “You have no idea! I’ve got kids, grandkids, a beautiful husband and a mortgage. This is surreal.”
So far this year there have been nine Powerball division one winners, who have collectively taken home $299 million.
