PointsBet (ASX:PBH) expands online casino to third US state
Corporate bookmaker PointsBet Holdings (PBH) has launched its online casino product in a third US state through its subsidiary, PointsBet West Virginia.
PointsBet gained online casino access in West Virginia through its relationship with the Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races.
After successful launches in Michigan and New Jersey in 2021, West Virginia marks the third state in which PointsBet offers its proprietary iGaming platform.
The online casino operations follow the launch of PointsBet’s mobile app and digital sports betting product in West Virginia from last August.
The company debuted its app on January 17, and offered some hefty bonuses and promotions to its new audiences.
PointsBet is rapidly expanding its presence across the US where the online casino market continues to surge in popularity.
Aaron O’Sullivan, PointsBet’s VP of Online Casino Revenue, said: “It has been our goal to deliver the best-in-class casino content to our users in all of the states where we are permitted to offer the service.”
PointsBet will focus on quickly scaling its business and has integrated Scientific Games’ platform to expand its premium content portfolio.
In November, the New York State Gaming Commission approved a total of nine operators to lead the state’s mobile sports betting, allowing the company to expand its market further.
As well as the US, ASX-listed PointsBet has operations in Australia, Canada and Ireland.
Its shares were steady at $5.21 at 9.43 AEDT.
