A PLANNING application has been submitted for a new slot gaming site in Bury.

Cashino is planning to open a new venue in Market Street, Bury, on the site of a former hair salon.

The business itself would be situated in Kay Gardens.

The brand often highlights that it is not a betting shop, but an 'Adult Gaming Centre' (AGC), and has addressed this in its application accordingly.

In the application, Cashino states that AGC's provide a monetary and social boost for the environment in which they are situated.

They state that their is often an "investment from £100,000 to £250,000 in long standing vacant venues", while local jobs for between six

and 12 people are created depending on the hours of operation.

They add that they "provide an important natural surveillance on the high street" which they also help by linked trips helping to support other businesses.

There are currently three Cashinos based in Greater Manchester - including one in Farnworth - but this is set to be the first in Bury.

The stores do not sell alcohol, but rather offer complimentary refreshments - with the business saying that they will not anyone intoxicated on the premises.

The application adds: "Merkur Cashino is an established brand in the UK and represents the very best in terms of exciting “slot gaming” entertainment through delivering to our customers the latest in venue product and atmosphere. These venues are known for their highly trained teams and first class face to face service."
