Peter-Paul de Goeij confident of NOGA impact on "rapidly evolving" Dutch iGaming sector

Not only was Tiina Siltanen appointed Vice Chair of the European Casino Association, Peter-Paul De Goeij was reappointed for a further two years as the leading representative of the The Netherlands Online Gambling Association (NOGA).

It would be an understatement to say a lot has happened in Dutch online gambling recently – especially following years of delays before remote gambling was finally legalised in the country (in 2021).

That leaves plenty for De Goeij's to-do list at NOGA, as he exclusively tells Gambling Insider...

"I am excited to be allowed to lead the organisation further into its development.

"The Dutch online gambling sector is rapidly evolving and it is crucial that we step up to the plate, and unite in our efforts to increase consumer protection and prevent problem gambling."

NOGA's leader is confident, however, of the trade body leaving its mark on the online gambling sector.

The Dutch regulator, Kansspelautoriteit (Ksa), has recently sent plenty of warnings to operators regarding gambling advertising – as well as sanctioning a number of brands in recent months.

As such, it's a busy time for NOGA. And De Goeij wants to make the time count: safety and sustainability are, unsurprisingly, top of his agenda.

He added: "I am confident that, by working together and focusing on these priorities, NOGA can make a positive impact in the online gambling sector and help to build a safer, more sustainable industry for Dutch consumers."
