A Uniontown man police suspect shot and killed his wife was arrested on Tuesday at a Las Vegas resort.

Arthur Eugene Guty Jr., 55, has been charged with criminal homicide and aggravated assault.

The body of his wife, Nicole Zambrano, 26, was discovered at their home on Monday. Police believe she had been dead for several days, according to TribLive and WPXI.

Zambrano’s co-workers had reported her missing after she did not show up for work for several days.

Police said that when initially questioned, Guty told them several different stories about Zambrano’s location.

“First, Miss Zambrano was in Richmond with a friend, in Florida with Mr. Guty to see his father and a dentist, and also in Richmond, Virginia, to meet with Mr. Guty eventually at the Grand Canyon,” Fayette County District Attorney Mike Aubele said to WPXI.

Police were able to track Guty to Las Vegas via his cell phone. He was having breakfast at the Mardi Gras Casino when he was arrested. Aubele told WPXI he had about $100,000 in cash on his person. Authorities believe he was trying to leave the country.

Zambrano’s family, meanwhile, arrived in Pittsburgh Tuesday to prepare for funeral arrangements later this week.

“The family wants answers. They want to know really what’s going on, what happened?” a family friend, Carlos Ramirez, said to WTAE. “[Zambrano’s aunt] feels that because we are Latin, there’s no justice for us.”
