The State Government has enacted a law against online gaming and gambling. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai made the remarks at the Police Commemoration Day at Old CAR Grounds in Hubballi on Thursday. He also paid tributes to the police martyrs. The list of 377 police officials and martyr's who died while on duty was read out. Of them, 16 belong to Karnataka. The government is extending welfare schemes to them. Nearly 16,000 police personnel are being recruited and grants are provided. 10, 000 residential quarters for the personnel have been constructed.
