Ocean Casino Raising The Ante On Upgrades
Ocean Casino in Atlantic City is planning to build a new sports bar and lounge during March Madness. The new venue is budgeted at $4 million and is scheduled to open sometime this summer. Vic Salerno and USBookmaking will provide the lines. The casino hopes to have obtained regulatory approval by that point.
Ocean Casino in Philadelphia is investing in its facilities. The Boardwalk property has recently opened "The Cove high-limit slot experience" and "the Loft" private luxury gaming suite. It also debuted an all-new high limit table games venue, a "unique Asian gaming space" for card members, and a pair of guest lounges for Ocean Rewards cardholders. In 2022, the casino will begin construction on 12 floors of the hotel, adding 360 guest rooms and nearly 100 suites.
Ocean Casino ranked third in 2021 in casino revenue, with its $306.8 million. It trailed industry leader Borgata ($606 million) and newcomer Hard Rock ($431.1 million). The Ilitch family bought 50% of Ocean in October. The casino's expansion could enable it to become competitive with Hardrock for the No. 2 spot in the industry and the top spot among the six casinos on the Boardwalk.
