Neymar loses €1 million whilst streaming online casino games
Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar, who is still in the midst of a long period of recovery following an operation on his ankle, spent part of his Tuesday playing online casino games. As reported by RMC Sport, the session was broadcast on his Twitch channel as part of a commercial partnership with Blaze, an operator that is not licensed in France (online casinos are prohibited in France).
During the session, Neymar reportedly began with a starting bet of one million euros (a sum that may have been provided in whole or in part by the operator). However, the 31-year-old star did not perform well, particularly with roulette. As the session continued, his winnings dwindled until he reached a grand total of zero.
Amused by his bad luck, Neymar pretended to cry, while his stream played a well-known tune that many internet users would recognise as the dissonant flute version of the “Titanic” theme song.
In December of last year, Sportune highlighted Blaze as the 26th personal sponsor of Neymar, who is also known for being a skilled poker player – some even consider him of a professional level. This hobby earned him much criticism in mid-February, following Paris Saint-Germain’s defeat to Bayern Munich in the round of 16 of the Champions League.
