New summer cocktails make their debut at Vegas Vickie’s in Las Vegas

With views of one of city’s most-famous neon signs, Vegas Vickie’s “is an unassuming and unpretentious cocktail paradise in the middle of the craziness that is downtown Las Vegas,” said Circa Resort & Casino lead bartender Tim Weigel. That famous 20-foot-tall neon sign is Vegas Vickie herself, donning her cowgirl hat and boots and watching over the lounge named after her.

With plenty of bar and lounge seating, the hot spot off the casino floor and next to registration is the perfect place to kick back and enjoy delicious cocktails—and the specialty cocktail menu was recently updated for the upcoming summer season.

For something refreshing, try the Pulp Friction with Tito’s Handmade vodka, Aperol, blood orange, sparkling grapefruit and citrus salt on the rim. “(It’s) citrusy goodness and a hint of bitter from the Aperol,” Weigel said. If you like fruity and herbal, try the Nightshade with Patron reposado, Pama pomegranate liqueur, blueberry, ancho and basil. “Imagine if a blueberry and basil went on vacation in Jalisco,” Weigel joked about the cocktail’s flavors. For those that like to taste their alcohol, the spirit-forward Battle Born is perfect. “A spirituous collaboration of coffee, amaro and spicy rye,” Weigel says.

While all of Vegas Vickie’s new seasonal cocktails are worth a try, for something a little unique and different, try the Major Grant. “It can be challenging to pull off a refreshing whiskey cocktail but the Major Grant delivers with the single-malt flavors being complemented by the herbal and orange delights,” Weigel said. “Along with some sizzle from the ginger ale, this highball shines in the summer months.”

One cocktail has remained a perennial favorite on Vegas Vickie’s menu since it opened—the Wish You Were Here. “The flavors of apricot and coconut dance on the palate with this libation,” he said. It’s mixed with Mount Gay Black Barrel rum, apricot, citrus and bitter orange. Bonus: Guests receive a Circa-branded postcard with the cocktail; you can fill it out at the bar and the staff will mail it off for you. Give your friends a reminder of all the fun you’ve having in Vegas—and all the great cocktails you’re imbibing at Vegas Vickie’s.
