Nevada regulator recommends license approval of Legends Bay Casino in Sparks; venue to open in August
Legends Bay Casino will open in August. The state's Gaming Control Board recommended licensing approval for the venue. It will make a final decision on June 23. Legends Bay will be the first from-the-ground-up casino development in the Reno-Sparks metropolitan area in more than two decades. The 40,000-square-foot casino will have 660 slot machines and 10 table games, 300 employees and a sportsbook operated by Derek Stevens’ Circa Sports.

It was originally planned to be $500 million, but it was reduced to $120 million. Goett's company bought the land in 2007 and prepared the design in 2008. He bought Olympia's Fandango Casino, which is due to break ground in March 2021. The Outlets at Legends development brings in 12 million visitors annually.
Legends Bay Casino in Sparks is expected to open in August. Century Casinos bought the Nugget Casino Resort in February for $195 million. Northern Nevada's economic climate has attracted several manufacturing and technology companies to the region.
