The first EuroMillions lottery draw took place on February 13, 2004. UK, France and Spain were the only countries eligible to participate. Play was extended to Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal and Switzerland later that year. Players pay £2.50 to pick five main numbers between one and 50 and two Lucky Stars numbers. The numbers are drawn at 8.45 pm on Tuesdays and Fridays. For 2022, the average Euromillions jackpot is £70.6 million.
