More Pinoys seen playing online bingo
MANILA, Philippines — More Filipinos—who have extra cash to spare—are expected to tune in this year on the 24/7 online bingo streaming platform BingoPlus and play other digital gambling games by DigiPlus Interactive Corp., which is projecting growth of 10 percent to 20 percent in revenues.
DigiPlus president Andy Tsui, in a media briefing in Taguig on Wednesday, said they were anticipating to attract an additional five to 10 million registered users this year as it is set to launch more games and diversify into digital content portfolio.
It currently has about 20 million players. Tsui is also optimistic because of the high smartphone penetration in the country, which makes their app more accessible to many players.
Most of the users are in the National Capital Region but the company is launching efforts to establish a market in the provinces as well. The usual players are 30 to 45 years old who are using their disposable income to bet online, he said.
This year, DigiPlus has earmarked a capital expenditure budget of P1.5 billion to P2 billion, half of which will be invested in technology and game development.
