Phoenix Mercury are on the verge of upsetting the No. 2 seed Las Vegas Aces in their WNBA semifinal series. They will have to do so without some of their best players if they want to win Game 5 on Friday and advance.
Phoenix Mercury are down to 11 players for Friday's Game 5 against Las Vegas Aces. Nurse is out for the game, Sophie Cunningham is questionable and Diana Taurasi is on standby as her wife is due to give birth to the couple's second child. Las Las won the Game 4 with a 24-0 run.
Taurasi is on call. If the game lands on a gameday, Taurasia and Penny will have to make a decision.
Las Vegas Aces are a 5.5-point favorite over the Mercury in Game 5 of the WNBA semifinals. The winner will advance to the finals. Chicago Sky will play them. Chicago beat the No. 1 seed Connecticut Sun in the other semifinal. Last year the Aaces lost to Seattle Storm in three games.
Mercury Aces lost Game 5 to the Las Vegas A's at home. Las Las Vegans host Game 6 on Friday night.
